Government Policies

E-commerce is revolutionising the way in which business is conducted. In line with their government policies for a wider use of IT technology in both the public and private sectors and amongst the general public, the government has set out clear guide lines for the policing and rationalisation of e-commerce. It is of paramount importance that the commercial sector and the public maintain faith in the integrity and safety of the electronic market place. We examine the importance of the Department of Trade and Industry’s SAFE INTERNET SHOPPING CAMPAIGN, the Trading Standards’ Central Top Ten Tips for Shopping Online and the impact of the Federal Trade Commission Act.

We will now detail the Government policies on many issues surrounding the latest elections. Starting with how the government feels on asylum. They claim they will reduce the number of asylum seekers by imposing tougher sanctions and increase the number of people that they deport. They intend to introduce an electronic register at all border checkpoints and they will give people claiming asylum points based on the skills they have and what they can bring to the country, for instance if they are nurses they stand a good chance of becoming a permanent resident as this is something that we need in the country.

Crime is one of the policies the government has had to take a tough stance on in recent years, the number of crimes is rising yet the number of policemen on the street seems to be getting less, they claim there is too much paperwork to do so the government needs to reducuce this and their policy aims to do this. the want to have dedicated team of police men and women for every area of the country, there policies intend to bring the number of comunity support officers up to twenty five thousand and they intend to increase the prison places and also the amount of cash for treating drug users and try to get them off the substances that force them into a life of crime.

The war on terror has become one of the governments policies that is probably on a lot of peoples minds at the moment is the war in Iraq, the labour party still agree the war on Iraq is correct if if the report on weapons of mass destruction were incorrect, they say that Saddam Hussein needed to be brought to justice as he broke all UN resolutions, in the policy they are pushing to get extra powers for the home office so that they can detain people suspected of terrorist actions for longer to get necessary information and finally the Labour party wants to spend approximately four billion pounds on defence.
