The London olympic bid is the bid to keep an eye on, the international olympic committee visited the menbers of the bid team in February. The committee was taken to visit the proposed olymic park in Stratford they also visited Wimbledon and Wembley.
The leader of the London Olympic bid Lord Sebastian Coe and members of his bid team were also asked questions regarding many other aspects regarding the games, matters including the security of both the competitors and the people going to watch the games, being in a time of heightened security as we are, they were also asked about their proposals for transport to the games because it is believed that they dont think the London transport system is good enough and the French system is much better. But Lord Coe insists that Londons transport system is one of the major strengths that the bid has going for it. The proposed Olympic park will have ten railway line running to and from it so it is possible to transport twenty five thousand people an hour to and from the park straight to the channel tunnel in approximately seven minutes and nearly a quarter of a million people an hour with the existing transport system, so the bid's transport side is very strong.
Lat year The London bid was lagging behind in third place to the Madrid and Paris bids, but ahead of both New Yorks and Moscow's bid, many issues were being doubted by the olympic committee but this year the bid team believed these issues have been ironed out.
The Olympic Committee's report is due to be released any time and hopefully this year the London bid is set to rival the Paris bid, but the team are very hopeful of bringing the games back to England. The report will not give a ranking as such to each of the prospective host nations, but it does try and instruct the committee members in the best place to vote for the games to be held, thsi voting will be done in Singapore as none of the one hundred and seventeen members of the IOC are not allowed to visit the countries that are bidding, this is presumably to prevent members accepting hospitality benefits in the countries in question to help influence their vote, not that it would happen though, it is just a precaution.
