Ministry Of Transport

Whilst recognising that the traffic has risen in this country by five percent the ministry of transport has decided to invest in more roads to make more room for traffic rather than invest the money in public transport. This is a situation that we dont want to be in, making more roads will inevitably lead to more people going on the roads and so the emissions will increase more so their policy on the environment and trying to protect it goes out the window.

The Ministry of Transport is not willing to admit that public transport is absolutely diabolical, their is no way to hide that fact that we have a terrible transport infrastructure, the ministry has made a commendable drive that over the next ten years to help with emission reduction, but they have decided that more roads is the way forward they have decided to drop their ideas of trying to get everyone to use public transport just as is very popular in Holland. The cost of travelling by car has dropped dramatically since the introductionof the first motorway and unfortunately this has caused public transport to have to increase its fares and this has had an adverse effect. Albeit the ministry has its own figures which betray the fact that traveeling by car emits a hell of a lot more carbon dioxide than rail.
